L'oreal Paris Powder Room Goodie Bag

Good morning :)
As some of my Australian readers may be aware, last week was the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
On Friday night I visited the L'oreal Paris Powder Room at Docklands in Melbourne - as it is currently L'Oreal Fashion Week.

The Powder Room is free to attend, and you get a choice of either getting your nails or lips done; I went for the nails.
As well as this, everyone who enters the powder room leaves with a free goodie bag - could it get any better!?
I thought I'd share with you all what was included in my bag.

A sample of L'Oreal Elvive Volume Collagen Texturizing Shampoo
L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray
L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Moisure Shampoo
L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Moisure Conditioner
L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System Moisure Leave-In Conditioner
L'Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadow in the shade 012 'Endless Chocolat'
L'Oreal Color Riche Nailpolish in the shade 216 'Milk Shake in LA'
A sample of L'Oreal Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer

I thought this was such a great goodie bag and the whole experience inside the L'Oreal Paris Powder Room was great. Considering all of this was free, including getting my nails painted, you couldn't go wrong.
I'm quite excited to try out the eyeshadow and the primer!
The employees in the Powder Room were all so lovely and talkative and I look forward to visiting again next year.

I hope you all had a brilliant weekend.

Please check out and enter my giveaway, it closes this Thursday!

Review: Too Faced Natural at Night Eye Shadow Collection

I’ve had a love affair with the Too Faced brand ever since I discovered it last year. Last month I did a review on the Too Faced Natural Eye Shadow Collection, which you can read here. Since I showed you that one, I thought I would introduce me to another love of mine.

What Too Faced says:
Introducing a sultry, nighttime version of our best-selling Natural Eye Collection! Intensify your evening makeup with this array of seductive, warm shadows that will take your look from sundown to night-on-the-town. These nine tempting shadows in a variety of highly-blendable matte, shimmer, and glitter textures add instant after-hours glamour to any natural look.

Like the Natural Eye Collection, this palette also comes with three ‘Glamour Guides’ which show you how to create a classic look, nighttime look and a fashion look.

The nine (2 matte, 3 glitter, 4 shimmer) shades included in the palette are:

Full Moon – a glitter light bronze
Nightcap – a medium bronze shimmer
Cocoa Star – a deep matte chocolate brown
Night light – a champagne glitter
After Hours – a medium taupe shimmer
Eclipse – a deep taupe shimmer
Spotlight – a matte bisque
Moon Stone – golden olive shimmer
Night Fever – deep olive brown with gold glitter

Like its ‘daytime’ version, the colours in the palatte are absolutely stunning. It includes great everyday colours that last all day; especially when using a primer. The shadows are so highly pigmented and super easy to blend.

I get a ton of use out of this palette for both daytime and nighttime looks, and would encourage everyone to stop and check out this palette if you ever get a chance – you won’t be disappointed.

You can pick this up at Kit Cosmetics in Australia for $53.96 or online at BeautyBay for $38.99.

Have you entered my giveaway? It would mean so much to me if you did! You can check it out here :)

Priceline & Hairhouse Warehouse Haul

Today I went to Priceline and Hairhouse Warehouse, big mistake. I can't walk in to either of these shops without purchasing something... So, as I like peeping at what others bought, I thought I'd show you what I picked up.

Priceline:

Lip Smackers 'Fanta Grape Balm' - $3.35
I purchased this simply because it was cheap and it was grape flavour. I haven't tried Lip Smackers since I was in primary school, and I thought it was time I should get my hands on one. I don't know how moisturing this will be, but I already love it because it smells and tastes like the Grape Hubba Bubba!

Lip Smackers Lip Lock 'Sugar Sweet' - $2.00
Once again, the cute packaging of this lip balm sucked me in! I'm not sure if I'll get much use out of it, but at least it looks cute! (thats how my mind works...)

Models Prefer Wide Tooth Comb - $4.99
I've ordered a leave in conditioner and I thought this would be great for brushing through wet hair.

Montagne Jeunesse 'Fruit Smoothie' Deep Pore Cleansing Face Masque - $3.99
I have seen a few reviews on these face masques and thought I'd give one a go. This smelled amazing - like a sweet berry fruit smoothie, as the name suggests. When I washed it off it left my face feeling fresh and clean. I will probably purchase some more of these!

Toni & Guy Classic Spray Gel for Curls - $15.99 and
Toni & Guy Glamour Spray Moisture Shine - $15.99 (on offer for 2 for $20)
Toni & Guy had a 2 for $20 offer on, so I picked up these two items. I currently have the sea salt spray and love it, so I have high hopes for these two!

Hairhouse Warehouse:

Joico K-Pak Set - $49.98
I went into Hairhouse Warehouse looking to purchase the K-Pak Revitaluxe Restorative Treatment that was in my March Wishlist Wednesday, and found this lovely pack! It includes:

  • K-Pak Reconstruct Shampoo - $26.95
  • K-Pak Reconstruct Conditioner - $26.95
  • K-Pak Smoothing Balm - $26.95
  • K-Pak Revitaluxe Restorative Treatment - $28.95
Usually, the four of these together cost $109.80 and I got it for $49.98! Total bargain, and I've heard such good things about the K-Pak range.

Have you tried any of these? I'd love to know your thoughts.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Review: Skindinavia ‘No More Shine’ Makeup Setting Spray

This is the first makeup setting spray I have ever used, so I can't compare it to others. This is simply my thoughts on this spray.

I bought the small size bottle in both the original and the ‘no more shine’ version and was pleasantly surprised!
Both work so well, however because I do have combination skin with an oily t-zone I have decided to purchase the full size bottle in the ‘no more shine’ version.

First of all, let me tell you the customer service from Skindinavia Australia is absolutely amazing! With my original order, I waited over a week and finally contacted them through their website. They emailed back within a few hours saying it had been delivered days ago and the mail man had forgot to leave a little slip telling me to go pick it up from the post office. Then, when I made my second order of a full size bottle, I accidently ordered the original instead of the ‘no more shine’ version. They were more than happy to change my order and sent me the bottle I was after. Finally, when I received the bottle I realized the spray pump on the bottle didn’t disperse the product evenly, I contacted them yet again and they sent me out a whole new bottle with a return post bag to return my faulty item!
Each time I contacted the company they replied within a few hours, and each person I dealt with were so lovely and helpful! A+++++.

Back to the product itself, it’s oil-free and paraben-free which is great, and it does disperse evenly (apart from my faulty bottle, but like I said that was replaced).

What it promises:
Controls shine and absorbs oil over face and t-zone while preventing makeup slippage. Formulated for oily skin types.
Extends makeup wear for oily and combination skin types.
Fewer required "touch-ups" throughout the day.
                Stops makeup slippage on t-zone.
Can be used both under and over makeup.
Controls shine and oil without drying.

I can’t confirm it keeps makeup in place for 16 hours, as I haven’t left my makeup on for that long! But I do feel like I can agree that it does what it promises.

I use a couple of sprays before my primer, and then a few sprays after everything, but before I put on my mascara. It doesn’t ruin your makeup (I was a bit worried to spray it on at first). It does feel a little ‘wet’ at first, but then dries after a few seconds. It looks great on the skin, gets rid of all traces of powder and I feel like it makes your makeup turn into a ‘second skin’ when you spray it on.

I’ve said in a previous post that I never take any makeup blotting paper or powder with me when I’m out and about on a daily basis, and using this product I don’t need to anyway!

This is now one of my holy grail products. It’s like I need to use it every single day, and if I don’t I feel like my makeup is incomplete. It just brings everything together and it makes my makeup look great and last all day!

You can purchase the small 20ml ‘sample bottle’ for $14.00, or the large, 118ml bottle for $39.95 off the Skindinavia Australia website with $9.95 postage. Postage took about 3 days for me.

I’ve heard Skindinavia is the company that makes the Urban Decay setting sprays. Have you tried any of them? What are your thoughts?

Review: Too Faced Amazing Face Liquid Foundation

I have been using this foundation for about 4 months now, and it is by far my favourite foundation that I’ve ever tried! I am so surprised that I hadn’t stumbled across too many reviews of this product, so I thought I would share my thoughts with you.

What Too Faced say:
Our oil-free, skin smoothing liquid foundation provides the illusion of airbrushed skin in seconds. Complexion concerns disappear as the weightless, silky formula glides on skin delivering undetectable coverage, with luxurious skincare benefits. You will always be ready for your close up!

I don’t have the best, most flawless skin ever. It’s quite uneven, has redness, and I suffer from the dreaded oily T-zone.

I spotted this foundation last year in Kit Cosmetics because of the cute looking glass bottle – I’m a sucker for cute packaging. I was really hesitant to try a foundation that had more of a dewy finish because I didn’t want to accentuate my oiliness. However, because the foundation itself was oil-free and paraben free, I went for it and picked up a sample in the shade ‘Perfect Nude’. As soon as I was running low on my sample I didn’t hesitate to go out and buy the full size bottle!

It also claims to:
  • Erase Imperfections - Created with our advanced Light Refraction Technology that visibly reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines by diffusing and reflecting light.
  • Wrinkle Relaxing - Bio Transformed Botanicals soften and relax the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles.
  • Close-Up Coverage - Real Skin Technology allows for “close up” perfection. Weightless in finish and feeling, foundation coverage adjusts to skins’ ever changing needs.
  • Skin Balancing - Natural Bark Extract absorbs excess oil while keeping skin hydrated and fresh.

I definitely agree that it helps to erase imperfections, makes my skin look great close-up, and has skin balancing properties – but I don't feel like I can comment on the wrinkle relaxing claims, as I haven’t really experienced it myself.

I would describe it as a medium coverage foundation, and covers my redness and events out my skintone whilst looking quite natural on my skin. I absolutely love the more dewy finish this leaves on my skin, as it doesn’t look so flat like matte foundations can.

I use this foundation with a primer & powder religiously, and sometimes with a makeup finishing spray and it stays put on my skin all day (I don’t carry around powder to touch up with). It glides onto my skin so smoothly and doesn’t streak on me at all, just make sure you shake the bottle before you use it!

Don’t be put off by the fact that it doesn’t have a pump – it actually doesn’t bother me at all, and I don’t find it hard to get the perfect amount of product out of the bottle.

I love the look this has on my skin, and will be repurchasing it before the bottle runs out! Definitely my go-to foundation!

I used this foundation in a previous FOTD, which you can find here.

You can purchase the Too Faced Amazing Face Liquid Foundation from Kit Cosmetics in Australia for $53.95.
